Designed by Jane McGown Flynn; hooked by Kay Forbush, Middleburg Heights, Ohio, 1993. WILLIAM M. BISHOP William Morris Third Place Readers’ Choice Kay Forbush William Morris is named for an English designer of the Victorian era. Morris worked at the dawn of industrialization when mass-production was coming into vogue, and he was well known for his unique wallpaper patterns, textiles, silverware, and pottery. This rug is adapted from Morris’ last wallpaper design, Compton. Morris detested machine-made products, so Kay Forbush thinks he would enjoy the adaptation of his design into a handcrafted medium.
